Most Indian nurses heading abroad are still stuck in a cycle of short-term, transactional placements. In an interview with IndiaMedToday, BorderPlus founder Mayank Kumar explained why the company built its ACE Acquire, Connect, Experience model to move nurses beyond one-off migration and toward long-term, integrated careers abroad.
The ACE Model
Acquire is the preparation phase, where nurses build the language skills, exam readiness, and system knowledge they need at BorderPlus’s Finishing School, supported by the BorderPlus Nurse Companion, an AI tool that simulates real hospital conversations before a nurse ever leaves India. Connect bridges nurses with verified employers, handling credential recognition, licensing documentation, and visa pathways. Experience begins after arrival, where BorderPlus continues supporting nurses through workplace integration and Anerkennung, the German process that verifies foreign qualifications.
Why Germany and the GCC Are Both Growing
Kumar noted that the choice between destinations usually comes down to language barrier, long-term settlement prospects, and speed of deployment. GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia offer faster deployment and tax-free income, which is why BorderPlus’s GCC pathway continues to grow alongside Germany, which requires more language preparation but offers stronger long-term residency and job security.
Impact
With the WHO projecting a global shortfall approaching 10 million healthcare workers by 2030, Kumar frames the biggest gap as post-arrival support, not just placement. For nurses, the ACE model is designed to reduce the fragmentation, unclear contracts, and adjustment struggles that have historically defined overseas nursing migration.
